High voltage optical transformer provides three orders voltage boosting!

When electricity emerged in the late 19th century, it marked the beginning of a technological revolution and a new era of innovation that transformed human civilization.
One of the key inventions that enabled the widespread use of electrical power was the transformer. This essential device allows us to adjust voltage levels, ensuring that electrical energy can be delivered at the appropriate voltages for various applications.

A recent breakthrough in transformer technology is iReach’s optical transformer, which delivers a voltage boost of three orders of magnitude. By using an input of less than 3 volts and a few amps, this advanced transformer can convert it into an output of over 2000 volts with just a few milliamps. What sets this technology apart from traditional transformers is its significant size reduction. Conventional transformers, which include coils and capacitors, are typically measured in centimeters, while optical transformers lack passive components and are only a few millimeters in size. By eliminating these passive elements, we have also achieved faster voltage conversion, reducing the conversion time from milliseconds to microseconds. This makes optical transformers ideal for applications where both space and speed are critical.
